Maureen is a freelance writer based in the metro area of Omaha, Nebraska, U.S.A.
She and Richard Wieler have collaborated to write a memoir, "Chasing Normality." As a teenager in 1955, he became permanently paralyzed from the neck down. Despite what appeared to be insurmountable barriers, he learned to live independently and became self-supporting.
